DESCRIPTION:This workshop hosted by the Energy Learning Network and Ethex\, will explore how community-funded solar can transform supermarkets into sustainability anchors: cutting costs\, reducing emissions\, and giving customers the chance to co-own the clean energy infrastructure above their heads and beneath their feet. \n\n\nWhat will be explored:\n\nSolar at scale – Why supermarket and warehouse rooftops are the perfect sites for affordable\, high-impact solar.\nBeyond rooftops – EV charging\, shared mobility\, battery storage\, and circular economy systems powered by community investment.\nCustomers as co-owners – How Community Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) allow shoppers to fund and benefit from clean energy.\nA national opportunity – The role of supermarkets in scaling community energy from niche projects to a mainstream movement.
