DESCRIPTION:Seeing is Believing lunchtime webinar: North East and Yorkshire \nMany local authorities have ambitious sustainability goals\, but community energy projects often stall once they move beyond local authority sustainability teams. Finance\, legal\, and governance teams can perceive these initiatives as risky\, which then slows take-up despite other councils successfully delivering similar projects. \nThis webinar will explore strategies to overcome some of these internal barriers and build confidence across local authority departments. \nIt will explore how to:\n– Share evidence and case studies demonstrating financial\, legal\, and operational viability\n– Engage finance\, legal\, and senior leadership early to address risks and any other concerns\n– Standardise processes and contracts to reduce uncertainty\n– Launch low-risk pilots that build momentum for larger initiatives \nWhether you are involved with a community energy organisation or you work at a local authority\, this session will provide insights to help you encourage more community energy in the region. \nSeeing is Believing: This event is part of the North East and Yorkshire Seeing is Believing programme\, funded by the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub\, and delivered with CEE\, Ashden and Centre for Sustainable Energy.
