SUMMARY:Heat and Decentralised Energy 2022
DESCRIPTION:Finance for the green transition has moved centre stage for the investment and banking sector. In the UK\, billions of pounds are now being invested in technologies from renewable energy generation and storage to hydrogen. \nHowever\, whilst some low carbon energy sectors have seen significant recent investment\, others have not. Moreover\, the investment environment is now under strain: changes to monetary policy\, the threat of recession and unprecedented energy bills could all erode the ability of financial institutions\, companies and households to invest towards net zero. \nHeat and Decentralised Energy 2022 – hosted by the Association for Decentralised Energy – will explore how the transition to net zero can be financed\, in order to deliver the rapid growth needed across clean heat\, power\, flexibility and efficiency if we are to successfully decarbonise our economy. \nThe conference will take place on Thursday 13 October in London and you can now book your place at www.heatconference.co.uk. \nThe conference will explore how we unlock the £321bn required to deliver the UK’s 2050 targets at the domestic\, city and industrial scale. Our programme brings together a unique blend of speakers from the energy and finance sectors\, including: \n\nChris Stark\, CEO\, Climate Change Committee\nJames Close\, Head of Climate Change\, NatWest\nSam Hall\, Director\, Conservative Environment Network\nJo Butlin\, Chair\, Thrive\nMaria Dutton\, Associate\, Green Finance Institute\nRhianydd Griffith\, Senior Vice President\, Hermes Investment\nJoel Henrick\, Deputy Director of Policy\, UK Investment Bank\nPeter Smith\, Director of Policy and Advocacy\, National Energy Action\n\nThe conference will ask: what does real innovation look like in the finance sector and how can we encourage more of it? How does this play into key political issues such as the cost-of-living crisis and levelling up\, and how do we ensure the transition is delivered in a just way? Is the cheapest way to net zero the best way? And how can we really move the dial and make all investment sustainable? \nHeat and Decentralised Energy 2022 is sponsored by Vattenfall Heat UK. Discounted tickets are available for ADE members\, public sector organisations and academics and researchers. \nFind out more about Heat and Decentralised Energy 2022 at www.heatconference.co.uk.
