SUMMARY:National Grid – Net Zero Communities Online Forum
DESCRIPTION:Labour has promised to support local energy\, including already removing planning blockages to onshore wind and\, through GB Energy\, offering up to £600m in funding available to local authorities and up to £400m in low-interest loans available to communities. \nThe community energy sector needs to be ready to maximise the benefits of any future policy changes. National Grid and Regen are therefore running this session to offer a chance for community energy organisations\, local authorities\, and community members with an interest in developing their energy projects to focus on the key elements of developing community-owned renewable generation. It is vital to ensure that\, once further funding starts to come in\, we can get projects off the ground as soon as possible. \nNational Grid – Net Zero Communities Online Forum – Regen

SUMMARY:Going Green Together Online Launch: Tees Valley Focus
DESCRIPTION:Going Green Together is very excited to announce the launch of our new project\, supported by the National Lottery Community Fund and County Durham Community Foundation. As well as expanding the resources we’re currently offering through the Going Green Together website\, we’re inviting VCSE organisations in the North East and Cumbria to join a special cohort to access training and courses in order to reduce their carbon footprint and learn how to make their working practises more environmentally conscious. \nTo celebrate the launch of this programme\, and to let you know how to get involved\, we’re hosting a range of online and in-person events in mid-July (find out about our other events here). \nThis online event will include a presentation about Going Green Together\, what we’re doing and how to get involved. It will also include break-out activities to provide a taster for what to expect\, to learn more about your organisation’s environmental needs\, and an opportunity to meet other organisations in the region and discuss how you can collaborate together in sharing knowledge and strategies in tackling the climate crisis. \nWhile this event has a Tees Valley focus\, any organisation from the North East or Cumbria may join if they are unable to attend our other events. \nThis is a fantastic opportunity for those who are looking to make their first steps towards environmental reform within their organisation\, those who want to discover more\, and for those who are already embedding environmental practise in their organisation but who are looking to collaborate with and help other organisations do the same.
