One of the Local Net Zero Hubs’ objectives is a national knowledge transfer programme, improving information sharing and collaboration between national government, local authorities and the regions and building networks and partnerships between these groups and other key stakeholders in utilities, civil society and academia.

Sometimes though, we go international!

In the North East and Yorkshire over the past few years the Hub has hosted and advised policy makers from Japan, New Zealand and Australia who have approached us to learn more about the UK approach to delivering national clean energy and heat objectives locally, in particular through the work of the Local Net Zero Hubs.

This week it was the turn of Greece!

The Hub was delighted to welcome Dr Evanthie Michalena, Head, of Energy Efficiency and Environmental Resources at the Hellenic Wastes, Energy and Water Regulator (RAAEY) – and adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia – to Nortumberland as part of projects designed to strengthen international cooperation and exchange best practices among European countries.
