You may have seen today’s announcement there will be no funding for the Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) in 2025/26 as the government prioritises the delivery of existing heat decarbonisation plans.
Since 2020 LCSF has provided funding for public sector organisations to commission consultants to develop plans for decarbonised heating of their buildings.
Building heat decarbonisation plans underpin applications to the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS).
The North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub’s Public Estate Decarbonisation team supports public bodies to decarbonise their estates, including PSDS applications.
If you are planning on making a PSDS application this financial year and do not have a heat decarbonisation plan for the relevant buildings we will be commissioning some limited external support for the development or upgrade of these plans.
