Domestic Retrofit Skills Need Assessment

The North East LEP, with sponsorship from the Net Zero Hub, recently commissioned a piece of research analysing the future demand for skilled labour set to be generated by housing retrofit needs. The scale of economic benefits estimated from this are vast, with around 80,000 skilled workers estimated to be needed by 2030 to supply the Hub region. Read the full findings here.

Net Zero for Social Housing WP4 report

The Net Zero Hub has commissioned a report examining the tools that exist to help registered social housing providers understand the transformation required in decarbonising social housing. The report also provides assistance in defining net zero in social housing and measuring progress. This work has been funded through the Technical Assistance Facility established by BEIS as part of The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

Northern Housing Consortium Monitor 2022

The Northern Housing Consortium has recently published its Northern Housing Monitor for 2022. The report outlines trends and structural gaps in domestic energy efficiency across the North, highlighting the scale of retrofit required to ensure the housing stock is properly insulated.

GoCompare energy cost calculator

GoCompare have developed an online interactive tool to help households calculate their energy costs. The tool allows users to select appliances in their home and attain an estimate of the energy that they are likely to use for a given period of time.
